Okay, so after I take a shower, the bathroom mirror is all fogged up.
To solve this problem, I can open the door, letting in cooler air - eventually problem solved –
OR
I can turn on the fan-exhaust, removing the warmer air - eventually problem solved.
My question is
If I do both - turn on the fan And open the bathroom door -
will the problem be solved more quickly OR will the two actions counteract each other’s effectiveness?
Since the exhaust fan is sucking out the hot, moist air and expelling it up the pipe to the roof, and the resultant airflow is also pulling in the cooler, drier air from out in the hallway, I’d say that both things together would work better than either separately.
If the end goal is to get thoie hot moist air out of the room ASAP, the door works alot better. Having said that, I don’t think runing the fan at the same time is gonna slow the process down (you can put this to the test by trying it.:)). But in my experience, the fan’s more of a preemptive strike than a good way to clear out a foggy bathroom.
Get a fogless mirror and your troubles are over (at least for a little bit).
