In Revival King mentions the name Paul Overton. I am positive he used this name before but Google has failed me. I suspect it is reference to another work but am unsure. Anyone know for sure? Or am I wrong and it just sounds familiar to me. Thanks.
The author in Misery is Paul Sheldon, could that be what you’re misremembering?

I consider myself a pretty legit King fan and the name Paul Overton does not ring a bell. Stephen king wikia http://stephenking.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page also comes up empty.

I am starting to think it is just Deja Vu or maybe he used the name in passing somewhere for something that doesn’t merit any mentions in a wiki but as soon as I read it I was sure it was from something else of his.
This is a real stretch, but Dayna Jurgens in “The Stand” (TV, 1994) was played by Kellie Overbey. Dayna was the spy for the Boulder Free Zone who was shacking up with Lloyd (Miguel Ferrer) in Vegas and impaled herself on a huge glass shard when Flagg tumbled to her ID.
For more confusion: there’s a Kelly Overton (actress) in “Desperation” (never saw it).

I did snort when the names ‘Mary’ and ‘Victor’ appeared in close proximity late in the book.
