Stephen King stories that should be movies...

Annie-Xmas… what was “Do the Dead Sing”? I never heard of it. What book was it in?

Just to let you know

-“The Mist” has been on Frank Darabonts (guy who made the screenplay for The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile) desk FOREVER. He pops up occasionally after finishing a script and says he REALLY wants to finish it or is still writing it. Whatever it is, I believe it has backing and they are just waiting for the script.

-Salem’s Lot is currently being made into a made for TV movie ala The Shining. The original story (the one where you hear the diary accounts of his butler) is a must read. It truly creeped me out.

Definitely “The Eyes of the Dragon”.

With caution, “Rose Madder”.

I’ve gotta agree that a faithful adaption of The Running Man would be great. After 9/11 though, it’s almost a given that the ending would be changed.

I agree. I could maybe see John Cusack or Jim Carrey as Bobby Fornoy.

With Frances Sternhagen.

Yes, yes, yes, yes!! With Kevin Spcey.

Am I the only one who casts these things whilst reading them?

Oh, and I strongly second the idea of turning his story “The Long Walk” into a movie.

Quicksilver Highway shows up on the Sci-Fi Channel every so often.

I second **The Mist, but I disagree that the monsters have to remain unseen. In the trip to the pharmacy and the escape to the car, King describes monsters vividly.

Umney’s Last Case could be fantastic if Darabont did it. (Sorry, but I gotta disagree with Bean_Shadow on the Rob Reiner thing. Yes, Stand By Me was good, but, seriously – Darabont did The Shawshank Redemption.

Slightly OT: What, if anything, does Stephen King have to do with Castle Rock Entertainment?
