Stephen King trivia

Yep. Firestarter. A psychologist for The Shop

Gold Star!

Looks like I might have called the “Derry is It..” one wrong though, I haven’t read his newest yet. I could have sworn that line was in IT, too. Mea culpa

There’s so many references to and settings in Derry, I can understand choosing “It.”

This was fun. We should continue despite the OP’s shift being over!

Some softballs on Misery:

– What’s the brand name of the addictive narcotic Annie gives (or restrains from giving) Paul to keep him submissive/dependent.

– What was the name of the manuscript Paul was working on that Annie didn’t take very kindly to?

– What letter was missing on the typewriter that Paul had to fill in by hand?

Fast Cars

I think it threw the “E” first, then later it threw the “T” and a couple other letters (but I don’t remember them all. “L” and “R,” maybe?).

Novril…fictional percocet

Fast Cars…you dirty birdie!

I think the E was missing

ohh you beat me snickers!

“It’s infinity in there”

1957 Plymouth Fury

Your hair like winter fire
January embers
my heart burns there too

Beaten to it, but “It’s infinity in there”, his hair shocked white.

Too add on to this: What did he say, just before walking through to his fate?

For a bonus: What what this character’s name? (no looking!)

I want to say Keflex, but Amoxicilin is sticking in my head too.

Did Stephen ever fully recover from getting run over?

Last I heard he was still using braces and in pain. It made writing difficult.

From something like that, probably not. Not sure if he still has to be on regular pain meds. But they seem more prevalent in his writing (Under The Dome, especially). I know he was hit in the middle of writing On Writing, and the tone of the book abruptly changes to this new point of view after his brush with death. It profoundly changed him, and he goes into some depth about his immediate (yet ongoing) recovery of the accident. I believe he mentioned it’s one of the reasons he got his ass in gear to finish the Dark Tower series in one fell swoop. (Although looks like we’re getting a new chapter in-between Wizard and Glass and *Wolves of the Calla: *The Wind Through the Keyhole. April can’t come soon enough.)

Other than that, may he have many more years to enjoy, and offer us his work. He’s slowed down some (relatively speaking), but seems back to his game as of late. His last few books have been pretty damn good reads.

Oh, thanks for the heads up. I didn’t know that a teaser was released. Well, that just whet the appetite for a new Gunslinger book. Soon!

“Go then; there are other worlds than these.”

Actually, I thought the typewriter lost the N first.
