Is there any hope?

“There’s Mount Hope.”

I’ve got one for all y’all - what was the name of the hotel manager from “1408?”

Mr Oliver?

Damn, I got halfway through Everything’s Eventual, and lost the book in a move, so I missed out on reading it. Saw the crappy movie though. Tell me the story was much better.

I thought it was Olin.

The story “1408” is one of Stephen King’s scariest stories in my opinion (and I’ve read almost all of them). I think it is so scary because it starts so subtly and it is mostly psychological, which makes for the creepiest stuff (your own mind getting shaky and turning on itself). I haven’t seen the movie yet because I’m too scared.
Gerald Olin is the manager’s name - janis for the win!

The only reason I remember that is the prototype of 1408 was in On Writing.
Which reminds me:

What was the first thing King bought for his wife when he found out what Carrie had sold for?

I think I know this one - a washing machine?

Nope, a hair dryer. The drug store was the only thing open.

Anyone know the name of Steve’s dad, or his occupation?

Also, what was the Trashcan Man’s real name?

In cheating and looking up his real name, I found this - Trashcan Man trivia game!

What is his street address in Bangor, ME?
