So it looks like after several attempts, they are going to bring Stephen Kings Dark Tower series to the big screen…
Mathew McConaughey is in it if you didn’t get the reference.
No he doesn’t play Roland.

And the series is actually a sequel, taking place right after the events of the final bit of the final book.
Ok…I’ll bite. Are you being serious? Is this to avoid the ending of the final book and any stick about casting Edris?
I’m perfectly serious. And think about it, it makes complete sense. Think of the freedom it gives the producers, writers and directors. And it could still end in much the same way. Or not.
Yes, he has the Horn of Eld(I think) that will allow him to end the cycle. I think somewhere, I heard this film series described as the last cycle or something. He should succeed on this go.
And they are going to need that freedom. It’s such a sprawling, odd mishmash of themes, styles and cultural references that I thought it might be unfilmable. Like you would need to create a brand new director by splicing Guillermo del Toro and Quentin Tarantino together and then run it as an eight part miniseries on HBO or something.
Hmm. That thread doesn’t come up when I search “Dark Tower”
