I was scanning the new fiction books at the bookstore lately and I noticed that Steve Earle has a book of short stories out. Has anyone read it? Any opinions?
I just picked this up last week. It’s a pretty good read so far. " Billy the Kid" and the title story “Doghouse Roses” are very good, but be prepared for a bit of preaching when it comes to one of his pet subjects, namely the death penalty.
I also didn’t care much for “Taneytown”, an extension of a song off the El Corazon album. All in all though, a good solid first effort.
