And right now I live upstairs from a couple who have been fighting loudly several nights a week ever since I moved in nine months ago, and the floors aren’t thick, I hear it all. I never did anything about it because I just regarded it as a noise complaint, the woman never appeared visibly bruised, some couples just don’t get along, what can you do . . . Until I lost my patience around five this morning, went down to pound on the door – and I saw the woman on her knees and asked if he had been hitting her – she said yes – I said, should I call the cops – she begged me to, he begged me not to, and I did, and they came. Don’t know whether they arrested the guy or how it will turn out.

Ditto on all of that at my place, except there have been only a few fights over the months, and I haven’t detected any evidence that the guy is hitting her. I hear loud impacts while he is hollering, but it sounds like he’s slamming objects instead of her. I have not heard her cry out as a woman would who’s being hit. Once I went down and looked but could not see any indication that she was being battered. But I’m ready to call the cops any time. Any time, dude.

Well, in my case I still don’t know what happened, but I haven’t heard any shouting or odd-noises-that-might-be-thrown-things since then.
