Well, sort of. I have a T-Mobile cell phone - I got it last year in NYC after switching from Sprint because they offered a better deal. Well, the service in NYC was perfectly fine. But then I moved to Richmond. The service here sucks. My calls drop ALL the time, and after a call to customer service last month, I find out that there’s a blackout spot right around my house. Great. However, the guy in customer service offered me a $10 credit since I had such bad service, and I was happy with that.
I called tonight to find out when my contract is up because I have been dropping calls left and right, the reception in my house is hideous, and I’m going to go back to Sprint or go with Verizon. Come to find out that my contract is up on July 31 - hallelujah, I’m almost done with dropping calls every time I make one. The girl on the phone was extremely nice, and without my even asking, gave me 50 free anytime minutes for my troubles. When she asked me why I wanted to cancel, I explained it to her nicely, and she apologized.
Darn it! Why do they have to be so nice? Sprint’s customer service people were NEVER this nice when I was with them. I think these folks are in Kansas City, so maybe that explains it - maybe people in Kansas City are just plain nice. But they’re making it awfully difficult to quit the service. I just want a service that doesn’t drop calls - and the service around here just isn’t up to par yet. However, I have a feeling my conscience is gonna fight me on quitting - 'cause if I get another nice customer service person, there might be trouble. I’m such a pushover.
(Yes, I know it’s called retention, but still…)
