Stop running redlights, dammit!

About 30 years ago I saw a cop in LA yell at somebody for not going through a yellow light.

Yeah, not so much a big problem anymore.

About 30 yrs ago(or more)I got off the CA101 freeway, to check out Sunset Blvd, I was new to CA and only knew San Diego…I was driving an old 1954 vw bug with surfboards on the roof rack…a cop car pulled up next to me at a stop light right when I got off the freeway, and one cop yells at me “what are those on the roof?” …I couldnt quite hear him…sort of dumbfounded… then they floored it, just took off…probably to yell at someone else…or score drugs…they seemed kinda wild.
I decided I didnt fit in that neighborhood…

And yeah, I hate red light runners, and no lights, and no blinkers…and worst of all, onramp/offramp runner people trying to gain 3 cars advantage during rush hour, ripping across the residential cross streets…:smack:

It is? And then what would one do with the footage? Do you think you’re out there enforcing the law somehow?

It helps prove your case in the event you are in an accident. Nothing more.

That seemed obvious.

How would that be obvious when the OP wasn’t involved in an accident or said anything about accidents other than to say the behavior is “unsafe”? The vast majority of times someone runs a red light it doesn’t result in an accident. Of course, the minority of times that it does are very unfortunate, but there’s no reason that would be the go-to interpretation of your comment, especially when very recently somebody on this board posted a thread asking how they could become a DashCam-Ticketing Vigilante Crusader.

Ah, sorry. I don’t have the same reading list you do.

Before you get too pissy, look at the post immediately prior to the one you quoted. That was what 2gigch1 was responding to.

Not pissy at all - though he didn’t quote any post so it seemed like a response to the OP.

Sorry, the quote function on my phone and pad using Tapatalk is not something I have mastered.

It was pretty obvious is one reads for context.

Even worse are the people who will slow down, start the turn, and then turn on the turn signal. Not really much of a signal if we already know you’re turning.
