I just took advantage of some end-of-season discounts and bought myself a new pair of skis (Volkl Allstars). This is the first decent pair of skis I’ve owned, so I’m wondering how to properly store them over the summer.
I’ve read that I should coat the bases with a summer wax to protect them, which is fine, but I haven’t seen anything about what orientation to store the skis in.
Should they be kept locked together vertically, leaning against a wall on their edges? How about separated, leaning against the wall (base-down or base-up)? Or is it better to keep them horizontal - together on their edges, or separate and base-down?
It would seem that storing them separately, tail-down against a wall, with the bases facing out would best preserve their shape, but I’d like to get some information from somone who knows what they’re talking about.
