Three things you are hard pressed to find in a grocery store around here when they announce a storm around here:
- Bread
- Milk
- Eggs
Why is this? Whatever the forecasted amount, these things disappear from the shelves.
I understand before a hurricane you want to stock up on potable water, canned goods, flashlights, batteries, stuff like that. The damage from a hurricane is much greater and the clean up is much more difficult. But 4-6 inches of snow will be plowed within a few hours, certainly by the next day.
I just don’t get it is all. I can see buying rock salt and shovels in advance of a storm. But presumably you have enough milk in the fridge to last a few days. It’s just odd.
