Every once in awhile I get in a creative mood and can write pretty well. Considering the fact that my Honors English class is a class I could have aced in elementary school, I like to try to take advantage of these times to ensure that my writing skills don’t deteriorate. I only have one problem: thinking of something to write about. Anyone have any fun suggestions?
What genre (Ooooh, Tish, French!) are you interested in?

I tell my writing class that the best way to start out is to write a personal narrative. Think of an experence you had that did something to you. Perhaps it was life changing, or it could have been just something that cleared up a misconception you had. A good story involves some kind of change of thought or behavior by the main character.
Write this story down in a first draft just to remember all the details. Then write another draft using simile, metaphor and so on.
I write just for the enjoyment of it. I have a story in Teemings a few issuses ago. The joy of writing was as great as the joy of seeing it online.
