Ah yes, thanks for that link. Like I said then, it’s like the time Homer Simpson bought a gun.
Kind of appropriate that today is Charles Darwin’s birthday, isn’t it?

Holy Crap! Man-those were substantial supports-I remember them from our last visit. That’s wrong on so many levels.
I grew up around guns too, but with no father to teach me anything. I learned about gun safety the hard way when I was 14 years old: By putting a two-inch hole clean throught the wall of our house with a .410 shotgun I had thought was unloaded. I doubt I’ll ever forget how I felt right after that gun went off. Sort of a combination of  and :smack: and :(.
Heh. Reminds me of a documentary I saw on the History Channel, awhile back, on Japanese weapons of WWII. One Nambu pistol model (I forget which) tended to fire if you put pressure on the receiver.
He was otherwise occupied trying to shove a pencil up the ass of the beancounter in the upstairs office.
Gee, if he was one of the best agents in the DEA, is it any wonder why we’re losing the war on drugs? (Anybody want to take bets that the folks in Homeland Security are any better? I thought not.)
One of the best ranges near here is (or used to be) Dechmont Ranges, overlooking the village.
When I was there last, my SSM told me that the ranges used to be much better and used more but a lazy, stupid squaddie fired off a few GPMG rounds well outside of the range arcs and one managed to hit a window in the neighbouring urban area. They homeowners have a lovely view of the hills, but I bet they rarely stand in awe at window for too long any more.
You can do that with Lugers as well, if you press in the sear on the side of the slide group.
