I always knew I was a good Socialist!
Economic Left/Right: -7.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.10
(I’ve taken the test before, and ended up somewhere close to this time then too.)

6.88 economic, -0.21 social. Sounds about right.
I take issue with some of the questions, though. Is the writer/artist more important than the businessman? WTF? The definition of “important” is non-axiomatic; shifting with the circumstance and scenario.
Dammit!
Economic Left/Right: -6.38

Do I have anyone beat?
Well, this is my 2nd half of 2005 score:
Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: 3.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.97
I’m generally somewhere barely right of center economically and between about -3 and -6 socially.
Economic Left/Right: -5.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.03
I’m very close to Ghandi’s dot on the scale there, which I found interesting, as he and I supposedly also have the same Myers-Briggs personality type…
Economic Left/Right: -0.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.54
Right where I’d thought I’d be.
Goodness me. Looks like I’m more Libertarian than Libertarian:
Economic Left/Right: -4.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -8.15
I’m definitely in quadrant I. I would’ve thought myself a moderate, but compared to the SDMB I’m somewhere to the right of the NRA. Only 4 or 5 were further up/right than me. Wow.
Economic Left/Right: -6.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.23
Woah, I am right where Gandhi and Nelson Mandela are.
Anyone need a hug? Anyone?
I came out more left/libertarian than I thought - but not overly surprised either
-8.2 and -4.31. At least this puts my views in perspective - no wonder I’m always BAFFLED at how the population at large votes. I’m on the FRINGE!!!
I have a new found sense of being liberated!! or is it libertarianated???
I clearly need to switch from democrat to green.
Economic Left/Right: -2.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.77
I have become more moderate in the last year or so. When I first took the test a couple years ago, I was much more Left/Libertarian.
I’ve sold out!
Economic = 1.00
Social = -1.03
Near the middle, as expected…but I believe that I crossed both axiis (sp?) from the last time I took it (-.5,.3)…I know, that ain’t saying much.
As for me, I’m:
Economic Left/Right: -3.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.97
This time,
Economic Left/Right: 2.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.10
I’m usually a little bit more on the negative side for Libertarian - I’d say 3.00, -1.00 would be my average.
Many thanks for this, wolf_meister.
One small point: you incorrectly have notquitekarpov at +3, +5. It rather lessens the impact of the sheer extremism of dear departed Brutus.
Economic Left/Right: 4.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.62
Bit surprised I am not more to the right economically. But its generally on target.
Proud to be in the Lower Left.
Economic Left/Right: -5.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.38
I took the test just now, and got a result of (-7.13, -6.46), but I don’t consider myself a Socialist. Then again, I am a Bay Area native, and I know some hardcore Socialists who live in (where else?) Berkeley. I took the test when the Political Compass first rolled around here and scored something like (-7, -5.5), but I don’t remember exactly.
I generally vote Democratic, at least for national offices, because even though I take issue with some of their stances, they’re also ususally the only ones who have a chance against the Republicans. I can’t see voting for any Republican in the forseeable future.
Economic Left/Right: 0.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.87
Yep, I’m a Shinui voter.
