Is it a good porn site?
I also have the exact same problem, here and, oddly, at the Huffington post. I’ve googled it and the only suggestion out there is that my router is infected (it only happens when I’m surfing from my iPad).
I have no idea how to fix the router but anticipate some googling in the near future to fix it.
I don’t think that is the case. Unless, of course, my university is secretly using my hardware (which I highly doubt, since theirs is closer to the university and much better).
It can’t be an infection on the iPad itself; the only way anything can be installed on the iPad (without jailbreaking it) is through the appstore, and even then the app couldn’t do this.
Define ‘good’. But from what I’ve seen, I’d say no. If I were searching the internet for medical advice and I would stumble upon a website with similar design, I would immediately close the webpage.
It’s interesting that all the reports of this happening were on iPads.
Now I’m sure a lot of people own those things but I doubt they’re – yet, anyway – in the majority. So at first glance the problem seems to be only affecting iPad users.
I have never seen this issue before, not like this. More research is needed and I will see if I can find out more. In the meantime I’ll make an announcement board-wide and see what I hear from the community.
If any of you see something on this kind of issue – usually it’s the other way around, stuff affects Win machines and Apple products are untouched! – I’m looking for anything that can shed light on this situation.

Again it happen to me for the last month or two at huffpo but only here the last weekend or so … At huffpo it seemed like it either happened 1 out of 10 or so clicks or if I was idle for a while. Here just twice or so, no real pattern.
