Sparky, regarding the person with the cane and earbuds, he may not have been “totally” blind. I have a friend who is legally blind and walks with a white-and-red cane. However, he has a tiny, tiny amount of vision (or had, up to a few years ago). He could read from a book or a sheet of paper, but had to hold it very close to his eyes and had to scan back and forth. Sitting across the table from me, he said he could look me in my right eye or my left eye, but not both at the same time. Thus, the guy you saw may not be using his hearing in the way you think a blind person should.
Wait. I thought a wizard’s staff had a knob on the end. Isn’t that how that song goes that Nanny always sings?
I’ve seen redder.
