Those areas will soon be covered by the backpack camera. They’ll go inside malls, onto walking paths, wandering through graveyards, etc.
Well, I was teased but unfulfilled… not surprisingly, the MOD and DOD saw to it that all of our houses on RAF bases can’t be seen, though I could see the back of our old house from the Aynho Road at RAF Croughton. No such luck with the house at RAF Feltwell. Our old house in Standlake, near Witney is on a close, so the street immediately in front of it can be seen (and the road to the close) but not the close itself.
I don’t know the addy of our old house in Hopton-near-Diss, so I guess I’ll ask my parents to see if I could find it. But I had no trouble finding my aunt’s house in Bury St. Edmunds…
Cool stuff, the sort of thing that one can waste hours viewing…
Something has gone horribly wrong with the phone box used in the film Local Hero.
And there’s a few places they shouldn’t have gone!
Baffled why they drove up this road, as it’s a dead end with nothing to see, and probably private, as well.
quiet country road
A glorious day, and view, on Skye
A giant seagull lays waste to Brighton
Have you been able to locate Dangermouse’s headquarters yet?
I can’t find Fawlty Towers anywhere!
The outside locations were filmed here but I don’t think Street View reaches into that little lane.
Now a really glamorous location Onslow’s House in *Keeping Up Appearances * (3 Mitchell Close Coventry).
I know that street from nearly fifty years ago. Both my grandmother and aunt lived just around the corner.
As noted in the link above, it was demolished.
However, here are a couple of locations from the “Gourmet Night” episode:
Andre’s restaurant (where Basil cheated by ordering food from the chef - now a Chinese called “Wings”.
The “damn good thrashing” corner where Basil showed his car who was boss…
That is priceless!
