A friends husband wwent into the hospital 2 weeks ago with low blood pressure.
They found out he’d had 15 mini strokes.
He is home now and told to avoid salt.
He is in his 40’s, fit and a former smoker.
How bad is salt for your health?
I had always been underweight and figured I could eat whatever, still do, though now I am normal weight.
How bad is salt?
What kind of diet would be best to avoid strokes?
I’m curious as to how they determined the number of strokes he’d had in the past.
Most people consume more salt than they need, but unless you have a medical condition such as hypertension or congestive heart failure, extra salt won’t hurt you. If you’re concerned about it, you should talk to your doctor. Note that many people have hypertension without knowing it.
Doctors can tell how many strokes people have had.
How, I don’t know, but I am not a doctor, obviously.
