I have had this game a while but finally played it and it was a blast. Unmatched is a miniature/card battle game where characters, people and things from all over history or pop culture can fight. The game I played was Robin Hood vs. Bigfoot (yes, really) and it was fun!
Each character has a unique deck (they are all premade, there is no deck construction), one or more sidekicks (usually) and a special power. In our case, Robin Hood had a band of outlaws and Bigfoot had his friend the Jackalope. You put your pieces on the board, shuffle your deck and you are ready. The rules are quick and easy and the characters all play differently plus you can mix and match characters from different games to fight against each other. Most are public domain but a few are licensed and are purposely picked to be eclectic.
Some examples: Sinbad, Medusa, the Raptors from Jurassic Park, Bruce Lee (really) and upcoming they have characters from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sherlock Holmes and Dracula amongst others.
It’s a really light weight game but we played it for hours and as soon as you think one character is over powered, the other starts kicking your ass. I would recommend Unmatched.
