Stud Muffins

I was enjoying a delicious blueberry muffin for breakfast this morning and came across this ponderance:

What is the difference between muffins and cupcakes?

The only differences I could come up with are:

Muffins are usually bigger and sometimes have fruit in them
Cupcakes have icing on top of them
Muffins are usually thought of as “good for you”

Other than that, they are basically interchangeable.

Cupcake - Has icing
Muffin - No icing

There is not, nor ought there be, something so exalted on the face of God’s gray earth as that prince of foods, the muffin.

Oh heck – when I saw your topic title,I thought it was a survey of who our favorite stud muffins are. I’d like to lick the icing off that cupcake Matt Damon.
(Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)

Huh? Sorry, I could have sworn I heard someone call…

The overwhelming majority of people have more than the average (mean) number of legs. – E. Grebenik

Cupcakes are made of cake batter (very sweet). Muffins are made of muffin batter, which should be a lot denser and less sugary – in short, more bread-like. But of course commercial bakeries think the public wants everything big, soft, and nauseatingly sweet, so the distinction tends to blur …

Don’t even get me started on bagels.
