Stuff you're throwing out this weekend

A 19" Samsung and a 15" GE - donated to Goodwill. Hopefully someone can use them. Also donated a new pair of Bauer hockey skates and a box of tools abandoned by a former housemate.

Freecycle is a great way to get rid of stuff. But two weeks before our last dump we did an even bigger one, and put everything out on the curb with a big FREE sign. It was almost all gone in a few hours.

Just ran to the ARC yesterday with clothes, chairs and an old cat carrier that hasn’t’ been used since Bob died last year.

Still going through clothes like a hurricane. anything that hasn’t been worn in the last year, except suits is out the door.

All the tupperware lids I can’t find a matching container for.

Next month I’ll throw out all the containers for which I no longer have a lid.

We get one vacuuming on some unspecified day this month. Tonight the wind has helpfully redistributed a goodly portion of the neighborhood’s leaves to my back yard.

Yay.

No, it was a cheap plastic bucket.

But the non-working computer monitor has been picked out by the scavengers. And for reasons I can’t begin to imagine, the electrical cords have been cut from the non-working standard lamp.

That bowl of pizza dipping sauce I forgot was in the back of the fridge. The last time I opened the door, I overheard it discussing a plot for world domination with a jar of sweet pickles.

A dishwasher.
I should really post this on the Pit.
I have a perfectly good (bottom of the line) dishwasher in my garage. GrizzWife wanted it replaced with something more to her liking and so, now I have one to get rid of. Craigslist ads didn’t work for me trying to sell it so I went on my local Freecycle and did a search for someone looking for a dishwasher.
Found someone who wrote what seemed like a sincere request so I emailed her with the offer. She responded immediately. We set a time to pick up at 10am this morning and confirmed it both with email and via phone. Gave her my cell number and landline to call for questions, directions, etc.
Ninety mintes before the scheduled pick up time, I get an EMAIL that she can’t make it because she’s got to go shopping with her girlfriends and “I’ll get back with you when I can get it.”

Ahh… no.
Opportunity missed.
