Stuff you're throwing out this weekend

-Clothes from 2 winters ago that still don’t fit; out!
-One bottle of Trader Joe’s Pepper Sauce…have no idea whether it would have been good on shrimp, as it seems to have solidified in the bottle. OUT!

Whatcha tossin’?

Lots of bags of maple leaves raked up in my yard!

Well, my husband is on a hunting trip this weekend. Again. So I might not toss any of MY stuff out, but his is fair game, right?

Not this weekend, but we’re getting our termites zapped so last weekend I had to clean my workbench so they can move it from the wall. I disposed of the original CD player from my Saturn, now sadly deceased, tons of hardware I forgot about, is cheap, and I’ll probably never use, frayed electrical cords, and lots of power supply cables and parallel cables from computers long dead. And a joystick with a connector no one supports anymore. And a bunch of lamps that no longer work and we didn’t like anyway.

I put three printers on Freecycle today. Hopefully someone will give them a good home!

Lots and lots of paper…to the recycling center. Going thru my files/boxes/stacks in preparation of moving. Most printed material now seems outdated in the era of internet, computer files, etc., especially stuff from the 80’s and 90’s.

Making a futile effort to eBay some of my old clothes… two chunky sweater vests that don’t flatter plus another enormous chunky sweater, three pairs of khakis in bright colors that the autumn “colorblocking” trend might make attractive, and half a dozen barely used bras.

Unfortunately, I find that used clothing is really hard to sell. If there are no takers, it’ll go to Goodwill.

I’ll be packing up some of the clothes that I clean out of my closet to take up to my mom at Thanksgiving and others to go to Goodwill. Half of one closet is on my bed now for sorting and switching around for the seasons. Gotta make room for this season’s new stuff.

We have a kerbside collection on Monday. So far, I’m tossing out: broken lamp, old computer monitor, bucket with a hole (dear Liza) and a mouldy pillow.

I have two bags of that invention of the Devil, styrofoam packing peanuts. I am tempted to throw them in the trash, but I suppose I’ll be driving around anyway and maybe I’ll find a UPS store or something that’ll take them.

The old bathroom vanity. And top, and sink, and most of the under drain stuff.

Currently installing thew new one. What a … lot of work. I measured and measured and measured. And sure enough despite measuring exactly the same the new one is somehow slight bigger than the old one. Had to remove some tile, will have to cut some baseboard tiles, new moldings, etc. Oh, and the holes I predrilled for the pipes aren’t in the right position since the vanity sits farther down on the base flooring than I had suspected.

I’m ready to throw a lot of stuff out. The urge to destroy is … building.

I tossed a bunch of the ribbons I’ve won a the county fair the last couple of years. That was about all I actually threw away.
We did, however, take four or five bags of assorted stuff to the resale shop, stuff that I’ve been gathering for the past few weeks. I’m sorting and organizing, so I keep a bag set up in the utility room, handy for when I find things I don’t want anymore. This makes at least a dozen bags in the last few months. Not a lot, comparatively, but it’s getting there.
My packrat ways are adjusting a bit.

bag of dead/dying CFL light bulbs. well, didn’t “throw out” so much as put them in the collection bin at Home Depot.

For them to throw out, most likely

You didn’t fix it, dear Henry?
Today I broke down a bunch of cardboard boxes for recycling. I’ve also been going through the kitchen, pulling out the stuff I never use, to take to Goodwill. And make room for more stuff I suppose. That’s usually what happens. I’m kind of a gadget freak.

Chunks of concrete. For some reason, the previous owners of our house thought it made sense to pour paperback book sized chunks of concrete in one of the front flower beds, and then cover them with pinkish garden rocks. The bare black dirt is an improvement. Mulch next spring will look even better.

I made apple hand pies today and had to throw out some chopped and seasoned apples because I cut too many to fill the crusts. I’m still sad about it.

Didn’t throw anything out but had a visit from a “vintage” store owner and sold her $174 worth of vintage items I had sitting around. Since I paid about $20 for all of it I was pretty happy!

Four cubic yards of leaves. Our neighborhood has a leaf vacuum that comes around so we just needed to move the leaves to the front of the house. We still had the bag from last years delivery of 1 cubic yard of top soil so we used that to move the leaves down the driveway. Four times. I only have one damn tree!

Yikes! I now have to make a trip to Goodwill with seven bags of clothes. And that was just from one closet. I also have two bags of things to take to Mom. Now I can get other things in the closet.

Haha! Sounds like our closets; think I’ll continue with the autumn cleaning. :stuck_out_tongue:

Now, how to get the hubby to just toss the delapidated, broken furniture he’s had in storage for 7 years and hasn’t used in ten? :dubious:
