StumbleUpon users: What have you now seen enough of, thankyouverymuch

I love StumbleUpon, but there are certain things that keep popping up that I am now thoroughly sick to death of, but can’t seem to avoid, because removing the category they’re in would deprive me of other things I do want to see, and clicking ‘I don’t like it’ doesn’t seem to stop very similar things coming up again later.

So for me, the things I really don’t want to Stumble Upon very much more are:

-Video game themed cakes. Poorly-executed Weighted Companion Cube cakes or cakes made in the likeness of Mario, or Master Chief. Bleh.

-Videos of stupid fluke shots that happened in Halo 3, replayed endlessly from every conceivable angle.

-Home pages for design companies that look like error messages, warning me of a long list of requirements I’ll need before I can try looking at their site.

-Similarly, home pages that are entirely done in Flash (and again, usually belonging to Graphic Design companies) that just say loading 32 of 984789645234…

-Design concepts presented as real products. I’m really happy that you’re sooooo excited about this fantastic new levitating laptop media centre, wearable fabric-based washable computer, animated OLED tattoo, etc, but please, just call me when you’ve actually built one. Don’t tell me it’s fantastic and can do this and that when it’s nothing more than globally-illuminated pixels on a screen.

thankyouverymuch.

What are you sick of Stumbling Upon?

Sites (such as StumbleUpon, evidently) that I had no clue about and make me feel like I’ve totally lost touch with what everyone’s doing on the internets these days. :frowning:

Me too.

Web pages (and videos) have about two seconds to show some actual content before I click “Back” or “Stumble.” And I’ll wait for a video to load and then give it two seconds, but not a Flash page.

I stumble through Flickr a lot, and you can find some amazing photography there, bt about a third of it is just lolcats and copied xkcd strips and stuff that shouldn’t really be on Flickr in the first place.

I’m tired of every other page being an article about Ron Paul.

I’m tired of those flash intros too. I automatically hit Stumble whenever I see a progress bar.

I’m getting sick of Photoshopped images that someone is trying to pass off as real. Like that jetliner coming in for a landing over a beach. There’s no way that’s real.

I get sick of all the really good artwork out there. Why can’t I come up with ideas like that?

I’m not sure if you are being sarcastic, but that picture is most likely real. The airport is Princess Juliana International Airport in Saint Martin. Here is a video of a plane landing there.
