a guy who looks like Steve McQueen and a guy who looks like Paul Schaeffer are stranded on an island.
That would be Murphy’s War, with Peter O’Toole.
I’d post another movie hint, but I have a meeting to go to!
One from back a page :
4th of July weekend in Las Vegas. Couple fights, each goes to stay with their best friends. Each finds other lovers, but (of course) realizes they were meant to be together.
That’s One From the Heart(1982), starring Teri Garr and directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
I still have this one out there :
A hillside of blossoming trees, three men lost in the snow, and a barking dog with dead soldiers.
new hint : The movie is autobiographical in a peculiar sort of way.
Papillon?
Okay, fine, I just have to get in on this one now.
First off: That movie about the bad-guy alien who takes people’s hearts, starring a big blonde guy, is, I’m pretty sure, I Come in Peace with Dolph Lundgren.
lesa: No clue on your mystery movie, sorry.
Now here’s my mystery movie:
Clue: Indiana Jones has to locate the Lost Ark of the Covenant and keep it away from the… ehrrr…
Real Clue: At the end of the movie, the woman leaves a coat-rack in front of the door.
BoS, you got it.
Rocket88, you too.
panamajack, is that Slaughterhouse Five?
Thank you so much, Cervaise. I’ll just bet that I Come In Peace is the correct answer.
I had done a search on the imdb but couldn’t come up with anything. It seemed to me that the Brian Bosworth clue should bring someone else to mind, but I was unable to come up with it and was hoping that a doper might be able to help.
So thank you again, and thanks also to panamajack and Equipoise for your help!
See, Equipose, we didnt’ need more clues a’tall.
HINT:
Slutty broad cleans up her act, but ends up murdering her own kid anyway.
that one’s easy…
Sofa King – no, it’s not Slaughterhouse Five, but looking at the clues I gave that’s a pretty good guess.
So here’s a clue to differentiate it :
A well-known movie director has a brief part in it as a famous painter.

Well, here’s my contribution to the list :A hillside of blossoming trees, three men lost in the snow, and a barking dog with dead soldiers.

Kurosawa’s “Dreams”
Here’s mine:
A man and a woman have kinky sex involving alcohol, raw eggs and a live shrimp.
cher3 - Jamon Jamon? If not, then Hot Shots 2? (Though I don’t remember the live shrimp in that one…)
Vandal:
Nope. Jamon Jamon was one weird movie, but that’s not it. (And I’ve no idea what goes on in Hot Shots 2)
cher3 wins for Dreams (Yume). It is a series of 8 short pieces, all based on Kurosawa’s actual dreams throughout his life. The bit part I mentioned above was Martin Scorsese as Vincent Van Gogh.
