Almost daily now I get IMs from Julia or Candy wanting me to watch them strip or go to their casino. I hate that. I have no idea whether it really is someone. So I have a new tactic. Warn them. Warn like hell. I figure if they can’t spam, they can’t bother me ot other people. Anyone else getting this? Join me in the warning crusade!
Well, fine, you cold fish. I’ll just have to find a real stud to strip naked for. Your loss.
XXOOXXOO,
Julia
'At’s the nice thing about AIM… I can simply make my SN unavailable for public viewing. I dunno if you can do the same with AOL, though.
No kidding when you say the pornbots are worse than ever. One cannot go into a chat room without getting IMed by idjuts who feel it is thier responsibility to shove thier sexuality or peticular perversions in ones face.
I do not use the innernet for finding romance or sexual gratification, and personaly find it an insult to the intelegence of those who have worked so hard to make it the wonder of informantion and learning that it is, as well as those who would use the innernet for noble purposes
I usualy am quite curt and short (dare I say RUDE?) to unsolicited IMs. Luckily, most pornbots don’t return the rudeness, and get on with thier business. But for those who would like to become my friend via IM have a tough row to hoe thanks to these morons.
Reporting them to AOL, seems to do no good, even when it is their coustomers break thier rules. Trying to do away with these idjuts is like talking to a wall.
So, Red Dragon, untill the Gov’t decides to come up with the equivilant to the Telemarketers “DO NOT CALL” list, we must make do with what we can.
I’m with ya Brother!
Warning them, what an excellent idea! I would have never thought of that. I’m in.
I just started getting AIM spam yesterday-- never before then. I noticed the warning levels for the spammers was already pretty high, so I take it others are on the same wavelength!
(and I’ve had AIM at home and at work for roughly 4 years, I think-- strange that it’s just showing up now)
I always warn the shit out of them. If they send you an IM and you don’t respond to it, and you warn them, their level usually jumps 20%. Most of the time they block you after the first warning, though, so I block them and use their addresses.
I get bored at work, and do all kind of online surveys, quizzes, etc. Most of them require an email address, and instead of giving them mine, I use the spammer’s address. It’s inconsequential, and probably serves no purpose, but in some small way I feel better. Hell, let them get all the spam mail I would get.
