We have hens, and keep their nests clean. Never wash our eggs, don’t refrigerate them. We use raw eggs in smoothies (it really amps up the texture). The rare soiled egg is used for our dogs.
I saw a video short on YouTube, which was a ‘testing the hack from another video to see if it actually works’ type vid, since so many of those ‘life hack’ videos are fake. In this one, an avocado with its skin removed is placed into a bowl and whacked with a wire whisk. The whisk instantly chunks up the avocado for making guac or adding to a salad, while trapping the pit within the whisk’s ‘cage’.
However, I’m skeptical, even though it was supposed to be a “mythbusting” type test vid. It seems like an awful lot of work to skin an avocado without cutting it in half first, before you get to the whisk whacking part. Why not just cut in half, remove pit, cut up and scoop? Works fine for me.
Now that could be a useful tip. We have smoothies all the time now, and more eggs than we know what to do with.
But do you drop them, unwashed shell on, into the pan you’ll cook them in?
Heh, I try not to. If I inadvertently do I just quickly grab the shell and soldier on.
