Stupid Gun news of the day (Part 1)

Not a purpose; just a fringe benefit.

The shotgun that I use for bird hunting has a hunting dog engraved on the receiver. I’ve been using it wrong all these years.

Yep, you must have bought the wrong model. Does your dog act nervously when you take it out of the safe? (edited to add, take the gun out of the safe, not the dog)

Ethnic joke: Are you sure you’re throwing the dog high enough?

DA, since you’re unclear on the concept, and perhaps not even deliberately: The fear is not of guns as such, but of the *combination *of guns and assholes carrying them. It’s entire rational. The asshole part is the default inference from the fact of their being carried, btw. Now kindly end the pretense that you’re discussing a disorder.

Example of why the inference is the default: Open-carry assholepractices successful therapy; cures girl he was harassing of her phobia. She’ll never fear anything ever again.

Ice Cream truck man in Maryland shot in in front of a line of kids.

Nice.

Oh, the NRA must be gleeful- all of those young impressionable kids, learning what it is to witness the God-Given Power of the 2nd Amendment. Sign ‘em right up, that’s the thinkin’ !!

Fuckers.

FUCKERS.

Fuckers.

You want stupid gun news of the day? There ya go.

Did you have a good day today?

Who gives a shit how and for what reason it was coined 50 years ago?

What do you think of the term homophobia?

They have a basic mistrust of anyone that would want to own a gun. They see it as some form of mental disease because only a crazy person would want to own a gun. After all we are protected by police and military. As if cops and soldiers aren’t into guns. REALLY into guns.

It has no meaning, or even existence, outside that context, does it? That’s why. It does not, most pertinently, in any way describe an actual psychological affliction, despite your delusion to the contrary.

Second most pertinently, your continued use of the word, knowing as you do the only thing it means and the only context in which it exists, shows a disinterest in actual engagement, or indeed in anything other than massaging that delusion. That’s also why.

You can keep on saying it if you like, but it will only strengthen the case for your not having sufficient mental health to be trusted with an object capable of causing actual harm. Is that clear enough for you?

It’s an actual phobia that describes an actual condition, and is often used by psychiatric professionals, as opposed to “hoplophobia” which is used almost exclusively by pro-gun enthusiasts as an insult. How many times does have to be explained to you that your small group is never going to make that silly word popular?

He isn’t afraid of guns, he is afraid of anyone that would ever want to own a gun because those people are craaaaazy. Every week there is at least one asshole on the freeway that pisses me off, I suspect the same is true of almost all gun owners. And yet I do not shoot said asshole. And I don’t see scores upon scores of open carry assholes shooting up drivers. Perhaps open carry assholes just walk everywhere (and I agree that a lot of these open carry assholes are in fact assholes).

Hoplophobia is as real as homophobia. If the second one is a legitimate word to use, then so is the first.

No, you haven’t been paying attention at all, have you? Not only crazy persons. Mere assholes, too.

From the likes of, well, you people.

They are also heavily into training and group discipline. You are, well, opposed to such things, risibly calling your assholishness “freedom”, and actually proud of your gunstroking as being a defense *against *the government’s cops and soldiers. Speaking of delusions you harbor, as we are.

Show us the link from DSM-V, please.

See where they say it isn’t really a clinical term? Sure there are people with actual phobias of homosexuals but that is not how people commonly use the term, it is not used to describe people who are clinically diagnosed with a phobia just like you are saying that hoplophobia is not used to refer to people who have a clinical phobia but we can still use the word hoplophobia just as meaningfully as we use the word homophobia.

No, he is crazy. Dangerously so, apparently, given his AFAIK sincere belief that everybody is just one bad day from being a murderer. People tend to believe that they are just like anybody else, and ElvisL1ves is no exception. He is a pustulent mass of impotent rage and unclean desires, so he assumes everybody else is, too. He is also a collosally stupid asshole with delusions of adequacy, but that is a separate issue.

That is hilarious coming from a chronic asshole like you. Your posts in every gun-related thread in which you everr posted are my cite.
How are the kids in your neighborhood? Still safe, for today?

Please link to sites where “hoplophobia” is used by someone other than a gun enthusiast.

Yet. Every week there is one more of you who can no longer say that, though. On what basis should we be confident you’ll never be one? How can we tell the difference between a “law-abiding citizen” like you purport yourself to be and a mere asshole, if in fact there is one?

Oh yes, you’ve also been promoting the concept that there is some number of killings that is “acceptable”, haven’t you? You sick fuck.

That is exactly the social policy you promote here anyway, despite their assholishness, and apparently *because *of your own.

A felon who can’t legally possess a handgun at all committed murder with a gun he either stole or was illegally given.

Of course if there *were *no guns this couldn’t have happened- just like if there was no heroin, cocaine or meth on the streets. Good luck with the trillion-dollar “War on Guns” over the next century.

Oh wait, that’s right, if we only dismantle the “gun culture”, then no one will want to own guns, which will make banning them much easier. Maybe you could petition the American Psychiatric Association to declare gun ownership a mental illness. That way the [del]dissidents[/del] afflicted could get the “help” they need.
