Stupid Gun news of the day (Part 1)

What if “the old codger” spreads outright lies? Is it o.k. as long as it’s about a group you despise?

Something which just struck me as interesting is that the same party that thinks every little child should be taught how to handle a gun for their own safety, and that simply telling them to avoid handling guns is insufficient, is the same party that thinks that thinks children should not be taught safe sex and that abstinence is the only option.

Strange days.

Something that is interesting to me is how certain gun control proponents are very comfortable slandering gun owners in the most heinous ways ( e.g. “one bad day…” and “another Adam Lanza”) as mass murderers just waiting to happen. Yet, these same gun control proponents shut their mouths tighter a gnat’s asshole when asked a few simple questions about their own place in their imaginary world of imminent murder. Truly, one wonders why they are so reticent.

I consider myself a liberal and I suspect that Bullitt probably wishes he never posted that list. Trying to frame one end of the political spectrum as more murderous than the other is like trying to compare Hitler to Stalin. Who gives a fuck, they’re both bastards.

Failing to store your guns properly should absolutely be a crime -
If you do the equivalent of leaving a car in the parking lot with the keys in it, and then the car is used to run over orphans, then you should be charged - a low level crime to be sure, but yes - I’d make it criminal.

I’m a Democrat and I believe that gun safety and safe sex should both be taught in schools. I know which party you think stands for which principle but not everyone taht votes Democrat believes everything that the most extreme elements of that party believes.

OK can you point to any place in this country where you will be charged with a crime because someone ran over blind orphans with your car? The most culpability I can see is monetary damages covered by insurance.

Where I am,
Allowing an unlicensed driver to use your car is a crime.

Given the nature of guns, if you are recklessly careless with your gun, and it gets stolen - I feel that “deserves” criminal punishment. Naturally - the “worse” the crime it is used for, the further up the sentencing scale people will be willing to go.

Once again, firearms are specifically designed to cause damage, injury or death. Motor vehicles are specifically designed to move people and shit from one place to another. Damage, injury or death resulting from motor vehicle use is predominantly unintentional (though not always) and falls outside the design specification of the device. Stewardship of a device that is designed to harm things and creatures should call for a higher standard than for a transportation device.

All this fuss over orphans, yet the orphanages are filled to capacity with 'em.

So you would be on board with prosecuting with equal vigor somebody whose knife was stolen and used in a crime? How secure are your knives, anyway? I’d presume a public safety maven like you has them, literally, under lock and key. You don’t have them in one of those I-want-to-stab-somebody-right-NOW blocks out on the counter, do you?

Is that a problem where you live? How terrible!

I hate when my knife accidentally goes off when I’m cleaning it and stabs a toddler in the next room.

Plenty of folks ae killed, maimed, or disfigured with knives every year. They are worried enough about it in the gun-banning paradise of Great Britain to have termed it "knife culture"and enacted knife laws nearly as strict as their gun laws.

Way I see it, you anti sorts really ought to be scared shitless of edged weapons. They are lethal, silent, never run out of ammo, and can easily be made from makeshift materials. Jack the Ripper never shot anybody, you know.

Not enough to warrant increasing regulation of them.

It is “anti-gun” to suggest that gun owners should be responsible for how their guns get used and to make sure they are properly secured? Whenever I suggest that, I keep hearing “BAN!” from the “pro-gun” crowd. How would that be a ban? Or even “anti-gun”?

What about all those innocent bystanders that get killed in drive-by stabbings?

And Og the Caveman never used an Uzi. Register rocks!
You wouldn’t happen to have any solid stats on knife killings in the U.S., would you?

It’s always nice to be told I oughta be “scared shitless” by people who are too afraid not to have a gun.

And I’m thrilled by the “gun-banning paradise” of Great Britain. Helluva lot easier to run away from a mugger with a knife than a mugger with a gun.

Apparently Great Britain is filled with dangerous ex-carny knife-throwing gangsters.
