Add another to the SEPOTD tally.
I’m impressed with the NRA for taking an utterly idiotic story (boy punished for biting a Pop-Tart into the shape of a gun) and turning it into a stupider and sleazier one (NRA gives Pop-Tart boy a lifetime membership and then uses the case to advocate for allowing simulated weapons – i.e. ones that actually look like guns – into schools).
Stay classy, NRA.
What law are you talking about? The 2014 Florida law that was referred to provides that:
Emphasis added. That would seem to explicitly allow for disciplinary action for toy guns “that actually look like guns” at school.
Do you have a cite for the NRA advocating for some different policy?
And just this March, a 5-year-old girl was suspended from school in North Carolina for pretending that she was the royal bodyguard and that a stick was a gun which she was using to protect the king and queen.
You do then have to get into what is “reasonable fear” for a child of the Pop Tart gun age.
In other Stupid Gun News, the most important thing the Texas legislature had to do, one recent day, was to legalize hunting feral hogs and coyotes - from hot-air balloons.
Remember to aim down, cowboys. Yeehaw.
Here is a story with audio of an assault that took pace because there was no good guy with a gun around to stop it http://read.bi/2rp96g0

Safety conscious gun owner shoots daughter to demonstrate to sons why they shouldn’t play with guns.

There are two things that have stuck with me from my Hunter’s Ed course that everyone should know. The first is that if your feet are unhappy, you’re unhappy. The second is that EVERY GUN IS ALWAYS LOADED.
Yep, play with guns any day except Saturday.
Son: " Gosh Dad, way to drive the point home. "

My neighbor is a gun enthusiast (like, really enthusiastic), and he has a six year old son, the same age as my son. I can so see this happening at my neighbor’s house. Every time I see a story about a gun owner accidentally harming their child, I can barely keep from crying.
If only there had been a good guy with a gun around, this tragedy may have been prevented.
I heard that the dad wanted to also teach the daughter about not playing with guns on Saturday, but she told him “I need more gun training like I need a hole in the head”
An armed society is a polite society, so we’re told.
Another mark on the tally.
You actually think you’re *helping *your cause, don’t you?
That might be cute, if it weren’t so sad.
…and another.
No, dickhead, this isn’t about my “cause.” This is about making fun of you for being so dimwitted and yet, somehow, convinced of your own moral and intellectual superiority. If guns had never been invented, you would still be this board’s leading dickhead.
Why not just set up a script to reply to any post in this thread with “ur stoopid, derp derp derp”. It would save you some typing, and lose no content.
