If we outlaw idiots, only outlaws will be idiots.
Or something like that.

Wow, have we really gone more than two weeks without a SGNOTD? Well, wait no more!
Two drunk brothers at 1:00 AM with a gun. One of them starts showing off his “tactical maneuvers”. It goes about as well as you’d expect. The show off waited till after 9:00 to tell anyone that he’d just shot his brother. And even then, he didn’t call 911 but instead called his parents, who seem to have an ounce of sense, as they immediately called 911.
Hopefully the shooter’s militia will conduct an after action review and incorporate the lessons learned in their next training event.
I love these descriptions from the article:
The gun fired! The gun discharged!
All by itself. No action necessary. It just went off.
See, guns do kill people!
Again, playing with loaded guns. They’ll never learn.
Jumping off the couch, yelling “Freeze you chilli-chokin’ pepper-belly!” and shoulder rolling over the ottoman is not, “practicing tactical maneuvers.”
Another responsible gun owner, playing responsibly with his little toy, responsibly shoots his friend in the chest. Friend dies. Responsible gun owner charged with manslaughter.
“Playing with a gun” and “responsible” are contradictory.
Well spotted!
Heavy on sarcasm hey?
Won’t any one learn to unload first before fooling around with a gun? Why do you idiots think accidents won’t happen to you?
You idiots are already an accident, your daddy didn’t pull out in time.
I think you’re suggesting the gun-grabbing pussies of California have banned 45 Colt/410 Bore. Is that right? I hope there’s plans to nuke those socialist sons of bitches.
He was following the wise example of former Vice Gun_Maniac-in-Chief Dick Cheney. Shooting his brother was affectionate play (and I hope the brother apologized for being shot), but the shooter needed to wait a while before his blood alcohol level was tested.
Very smart. His parents must be proud.
Because the Bad Guys are always other people. Typically less All-American-looking, of course.
And they aren’t really accidents, are they?
No, they’re not but I should’ve put it in quotes. They’ll say they’re “accidents.”
You gotta admit that his tactical maneuvers worked.
A Congressional hearing considered an amendment that would allow a study of gun violence. I know that in “American democracy” the fucking Republican stooge leaders just do whatever the fuck they want, because they gerrymandered districts and suppressed Democratic votes, but …
… just out of academic curiosity, if you click and listen to the vote, does it seem like there were really more Nos than Ayes?
(I admit there probably really were more Nos — how could a Gopster dare defy the NRA — but maybe they’re self-aware enough to be ashamed of their whorish behavior that they whispered the 'No’s.)
That’s what roll call votes are supposed to be for.
Waiting for the worthless, rotten gun filth – including the worthless, rotten gun filth on this very Board – to start circling the wagons in the wake of today’s Florida high-school massacre.
I know! Let’s just arm all the high-school students. That should solve the problem.
Fucking gun filth.
Now is not the time to discuss it. We must let the families have time to grieve. Then we have to let the police do their work. Then it will be NIT Bracket time. And fretting about taxes. Then …
Google “Stonekettle Station Bang Bang Crazy series” plus “Stonekettle Station The Seven Stages of Gun Violence”.
Read 'em.
Weep.
