To be fair, the title of this thread is “Stupid Plot Points” not “Plot Holes”, or “Plot Mistakes”. The movies he’s imitating had stupid plots, thus his movie has a stupid plot. It may be deliberately stupid, but that doesn’t suddenly make it clever.
Oh come now, can you honestly say that if humans could get there, they wouldn’t go snooping around on a planet that was 70% lava on the surface? Of course we would.
Speaking of water, how about the evil plot in Batman Begins where a microwave device or something is supposed to destroy all the water or something. Yet, somehow it remarkably does’t effect people, despite the fact people are mostly water.
Not naked we wouldn’t! 
How do we know the aliens from “Signs” were naked. They are F-ing aliens that we know nothing about.
A pet peeve of mine is people applying human characteristics and standards upon fantastical/supernatural things. Most of the time it just seems people who do that and pick on plot points, really just do it to make themselves feel smarter.
My comment was not meant to be snarky to Art specifically, just in general.

Well, more that it’s so stupid that everyone realizes it’s stupid, it’s deliberately stupid, and thus bringing it up in a thread about stupid plot points in some crowing and mocking fashion is a bit silly.

So the suits they are wearing (that look very much like skin) are just as reactive to water as their skin does and they cry out in something that sounds like pain and start melting when their skin suits get wet.
That’s “Those loonies are going to blow up the ocean!” I love that line.
