I want to know what happened to Rambo II
To be fair, the logical title of “Rambo II: First Blood, Part 3” isn’t much of an improvement. (Although “Rambo II: Electric Boogaloo” would’ve kicked ass.)
Saw another one last night on my cable guide that should be mentioned, for stupid colon use if nothing else:
Adrenalin: Fear the Rush.
Watch it there, Hoss. You’re treading on sacred ground.
I have to go with The Yin and Yang of Mr. Go. The only thing stupider than the title is the movie itself.
If you really want to explore colons…
Dammit, now I’m going to be sitting here at work giggling like a schoolgirl all day. . . “Rambo II: Electric Boogaloo” heehee!.
For worst movie title, it’s a tie between “Teen Wolf Too” and “The Jerk, Too”, if only for using the same stupid homophonous device (I imagine some imbicile producer giggling madly and pissing himself, muttering “Two…too…shit, that’s comedy!”).
snug the joiner
I too have seen “Mysterious Island of Beautiful Women”. However you should have put certain plot elements in the SPOILER BOX otherwise, you give the whole movie away by explaining who the mysterious women are, how they got to the island, etc. Now you’ve ruined it for people who wanted to watch this for the first time. LOL
And other Message Board Dopers, is that the best you can do with stupid movie titles? These are probably all Troma related but how did you folks miss these?
Sorority Babes In The Slime-Ball Bowl-A-Rama

And Bakhesh, you thought “Seabiscuit” was a stupid title? LOL
A Brit calling other peoples’ food unappetizing?
Sorry. Fried green tomatoes are a classic southern dish and are actually pretty tasty even for a northerner.
As for titles, how about all those Johnnys?
I’ll see your Johnny English and raise you a Johnny Chicano, a Johnny Spain, and a Johnny Frenchman.
Or how about Johnny Bagpipes
Johnny Rambo Tango
Johnny Skidmarks
Johnny Minotaur
Johnny Shortwave
Johnny Peer’s Clown Face
Samurai Johnny Frankenstein
or that alltime silent classic Johnny Get Your Hair Cut.
All courtesy of IMDB.
Heh. That’s actually in my rental queue at Netflix. But just because I used to know one of the Cannibal Women.
I guess “Stupid title” means something different to me, but my nomination would be
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Umm, why would you add “The Curse of the Black Pearl” onto what was already a perfectly good title? “Pirates of the Caribbean” by itself is a fine title. It was utterly pointless to add that onto the title.
It’s not even technically correct; the curse in the movie was a Curse of the Aztec Gold. The ship wasn’t cursed, and wasn’t the source of the curse.
Yes, it is. The movie is also in 3-D. And I was saying that Game Over is also a sub-title.
According to the IMDb, the title was originally just Pirates of the Caribbean. The sub-title was added in the hopes that a sequel would be made, and judging from how well the movie has done, that seems a possibility.
That was the idea, but in the end the movie got pushed back so many times that the game ended up being based on a very early script. The story was so screwed up in relation to the movie that the game takes the premise of a prequel to the movie. To complicate matters a sequel to the game was made that was based on the movie.
So a rough draft gets turned into a game and then the movie is totally different and that gets turned into a game.
Who says Hollywood (and the video game world) is out of ideas?
Because it’s a Curse that belongs to the Black Pearl. Like I am my father’s son, or the son of my father, it is the Black Pearl’s Curse, or Curse of the Black Pearl.
Pirates of the Caribean II: Curse of the Electric Boogaloo!
I’ll see your Crush Groove and raise you a Gleaming the Cube.
Mother, Jugs & Speed.
