I have heard that the AWD system on Subies are different, something like on normal pavement the A/T gives 90% power to the front and 10% to the rear (or is that the other way around), while the stick gives a 50-50 split.
My question is how does this effect the drivability of the car under normal and slippery conditions. I’m not talking about the difference between A/T and stick shift, but the AWD system and it’s legendary ability to transfer power from the wheels that slip to the wheels that grip.
Another side Q. I have seen a fuse slot on A/T Subies that have FWD written on it. I have read that the AWD system can be disengaged by inserting a fuse into this slot. This is incase you have a different size tire on the car. Would using this all the time be harmful to the car, and would it improve MPG?
