You might want to chug a couple of those Mike’s Hard Lemonade’s you brought instead…
As long as this show has Jeremy Sisto in it, I’ll let it offend me all day long.
Relax. She’s 21.
I do not find the show funny. I gave up on it after the second episode but really it was more like the first episode, I just didn’t feel like changing the channel for the second episode. I got over it by the third episode.
Another show that lost me was 2 Broke Girls. I saw a few minutes of it, the rich girl was at a rundown free dental clinic or something just to get a bite guard. When the shifty male receptionist said he could take her in the back and make her a bite guard her friend said if she went with him she would also need a “rape guard”. 'Cause rape is hilarious.
Everything about this show makes it feel like an Upper middlle class Orange County suburb parady from a Tim Burton film.
Since almost all of the decision makers and key players in Hollywood are Jewish (not a conspiracy theory or an attack, just a fact), I’ve always taken Jew jokes on TV as “it’s OK because we’re making fun of ourselves”-type fare.
Depending on the performances, I could picture myself laughing at that.
You wouldn’t have. God love her, the brunette is trying but her attempt at a disaffected poor new yorker is stiff and wooden as hell.
I watched the first episode of Suburgatory and didn’t make plans to watch any more of it.
Ding ding ding!
I watched as much of it as I could take. I rank it about a half step above iCarly, which I’m sometimes subjected to by my daughters.
A large number of Dopers also like iCarly. It’s one of those teen shows that everyone says is good.
I gave it a try because of a good review in my local paper, but it isn’t really holding my attention.
However I was a little surprised to find that the vaguely familiar-seeming actress was vaguely familiar because she played Mandy Milkovich in the first season of the very racy American version of Shameless on Showtime ( which I liked ).
I Googled a pic of him. Holy smokes. Is that what all Israeli men look like? I live on the wrong continent.
Don’t knock* iCarly.*
To be fair, the actor isn’t israeli, or to the best of my knowledge Jewish. However, in terms of looks and general attitude, the character is one of the most Israeli characters I’ve ever seen on American TV. I know literally dozens of guys just like him.
According to Wikipedia, actor Mark Salling grew up in “a strict Christian home” in Dallas and attended Christian elementary schools, so you’re right, he isn’t Jewish.
However, it turns out that Dianna Agron, who plays Quinn, is Jewish.
