Subway Nerve Gas Threat

I read in today’s paper that:

U.S.-based Al-Qaeda agents may attempt to hit the subways of New York and other cities with a lethal nerve gas by Independence Day

How is nerve gas administrated? Aerosol cans? Didn’t this happen on a Tokyo subway once?

This BBC article describes the method used by the Aum Supreme Truth cult in Japan:

Yokoyama admitted carrying two packets of sarin on to a packed subway train.
But he said he did not realise the nerve gas was lethal, even though he held his breath while releasing it.
Yokoyama only managed to pierce one of the packets with an umbrella before making his escape, Tokyo District Court heard.

Meanwhile, traces of nerve gas have been found at an American base in Uzbekistan:

However, speculation is that it’s residue from a former Soviet stockpile.

On the other hand, since that stockpile probably isn’t there anymore, this implies that al-Qaeda may have had access to such.
