This may have been requested before; if so, I apparently missed it.
How about a photo forum? Since we can’t post pictures anywhere else, it would be nice to have a forum where we can post pix of the newborn kiddos or the cats at play or whatever.
Objections probably start with database load and server space. Plus need for even closer moderation, even if photo posting is barred to new users for some number of days/posts.
What’s wrong with posting off-site and linking? Afraid of what else can be found?

Nothing really but its one of those things some of us just aren’t going to do. I can’t explain totally why (write it off to still being on dial-up into 2015) but I just can’t bring myself to actually forming or establishing one.
I’m not sure if we need a general place for images like the OP (I think) is asking about but I am sorry sometimes no one ever picked up the Portrait Gallery. It was a place where you could slip in a picture of your spouse, kid, or cat – although few ever did IIRC – and at least let the masses know roughly what you looked like. Made the various mini-Dopefests and parties a little more interesting.
One advantage of using Tapatalk is that they will host the images. You can upload a picture through the app directly when posting, without using a second hosting site. If you view the forums through Tapatalk you can set it to automatically view embedded images, so it helps with both the uploading and viewing sides of things.
This is pretty much why they don’t show photos here. If you have something you really need to share, you can just write it. I’m sorry I even clicked on those links. You could have posted the captions.
Not exactly the pics I would pick to convince The Powers That Be to allow pics to be allowed here, but to each his own I guess.

I find it incredible that you would select those examples in a thread advocating posting images.
Did your clicks on the 2nd and 3rd links confirm your regret at clicking on the first one? 
If laziness means that links to pics such as these don’t get posted more often, then I think we’re doing something right.

Arnold Winkelried hasn’t posted in four years though. It looks like people are posting pics in this sticky thread.
You apparently had no problem with that six months ago. What changed?
I guess its something at least although another incarnation of the actual gallery, at least to me, wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing.
Our IT department made a snarky update that they freed up server space by deleting all the cat videos.
That’s like saying that they solved hospital overcrowding by getting rid of all the patients.
I have a sneaking suspicion that you really weren’t making a request. 'Fess up, your real objective was getting people see all of those images wasn’t it?
