Why not a recipe forum? Call it “Good Eats” or something like that. I’ve noticed quite a few people mentioning or posting recipes, but there doesn’t seem to be a single place where we dopers could share our favorites.
Whaddya say, Ed? Moderators? Cecil? Set up the new forum and I promise I’ll include the recipe for the best Chinese BBQ Pork ever made.
For that matter, I was thinking that if we have a forum dedicated to something so broad as the arts (I love the Cafe, by the way), shouldn’t we also have a forum didicated to Sports – a pretty broad topic if there ever was one.

I was thinking I would really enjoy reading a Left-Handed Pig Farmer forum. Is that out of the question?

I have to believe there are already formums specializing in recipes. Also sports.
But you should ask on a regular Farmer forum about left-handed pigs. As I recall, they are treated much like right-handed pigs, but are kept on the other side of the barn, so they don’t get sun in their eyes.

I believe that Uke and Euty have laid claim to recipe threads in their forum. Cooking is an art.
In another similar thread a while back, I suggested an “Ask the __________” forum. We get a lot of those threads every once in a while, and since we have many qualified people in many fields on this board, it would be a central place to find them all. Sort of a self-styled expert forum, with a good dose of YMMV on the “expert” part, just to be on the safe side.
Like Chronos said. Plnnr asked if he could go ahead and do one on pies, as he considered cooking to be an art, and I wished him Godspeed. So far, Euty hasn’t contradicted any of us.

Dijon Warlock, we already have an “Ask the ________ forum”. It’s called “General Questions”.
Though some time ago every other thread in MPSIMS was titled “Ask the ____________”, with something like “left-handed pencil twister” as the blank filler. But that was a joke that got old.
You need a forum for the kind of thing Cecil writes about, but not insisting it be based on his column. Or, to put it another way, loosen up the rules on Cecil’s column. The General Questions column is primarily things Cecil would never touch.
