Suggestion for new forum: Current Affairs.

As to whether or not such a forum would be redundant to GD: There are some people, myself among them, who never set foot in GD, because my impression is that it’s all the frothing ideologues going after each other. I don’t want to argue about God or Dubya – but occasionally something comes up in the news that I’d like to get some Doper commentary on.

I agree with this statement completely and wish to subscribe to your newsletter. (A.K.A., I won’t touch GD with a ten foot pole.)

The feeling of the moderators at this point, with the acquisition of the READER, is that we should hold off on changes until we have a better idea of what’s what and what the future holds.

This sounds like the best plan of action, but had I been here before, I’d add that I would like a forum of that sort. Also, I hope it will be kept in mind once we do know what the future holds…
