I finally used that CD burner that has been sitting idle for to long. Now I am left with a big pile of copies made from my CD collection. Problem is that they look kinda oakie. I saw one person put it as “Labeling your CD’s with a sharpie is so ghetto”. They are right.
I don’t have printable CD’s, or a printer that supports them, just regular CD-R’s.
How can I make them look more professional and less cheap?
Not if our drive a Ford and wanna ever remove them from your CD player. Though I don’t have one yet, I still have my eye on one of these , dose or dem. But reviews are mixed and I’ll prolly wait for the next generation
I have one of “those”. Easy to use and has great color. It uses 6 individual color cartridges.
I recently switched to printable DVD-Rs, but still have a few silver DVD-Rs and CD-Rs. For those I used to print the label and stick it on the disc, but now I stick the label on first and run it through the R200.
I can vouch for the quality of the Epson R series direct inkjet printers - a friend of mine has used them on runs of DVDs of my video productions; they’re rendered even more professional-looking by applying a coat of this.
The driver software handles cropping the image to circular (as well as punching a hole of variable size in the middle - variable to cope with full face or standard printable areas). The only drawback is that they require six or seven ink cartridges - CYM plus light CYM, plus black.
There are also other “issues” concerning refilling the cartridges. I did a lot of research on the printer before I bought it. Go Googling and you’ll see what I mean.
[Forest Gump]And that’s all I have to say about that.[/FG]
A tip: the printer comes with a carrier tray to feed the discs into the printer. Don’t load the carrier in and then hit “print”. For some reason, it ends up kicking it out and you have to reset it (the printer has handy-dandy arrows to help you line it up). Instead, hit “print” and let the software tell you the carrier is not set and then load the carrier. Works every time.
I got mine at Office Max for $99. It also produces great colro photos, too.
