Suing a legal guardian for a crime committed by a child, in Canada

Quick question for any Canadian lawyers out there:

Has the victim of a crime committed by a minor, or a family member of a victim, sued the legal guardian of a minor for parental neglect, or something similar, due to the commission of that offense? Was the suit successful?

Is there a statute relating to this sort of thing?

(This has nothing particular to do with me, I’m just curious.)

Thanks,
