Suitable Graduation Gift?

Nephew graduating from high school.

He will be attending an Art College and is primarily interested in Photography.

His parents have major cash so he’s been everywhere and done everything at the ripe old age of 18.

It seems like the Cross pen and pencil set just won’t do so I need some help with something thoughtful and that he’ll keep forever.

Around $100

Any ideas?

is his name registered as a domain? as in www.SugarSpice.com

hey, he’ll keep it forever

ETA: his real life first name and last name, i mean. i do understand that the entire world is not registered here.

What I got when I graduated from high school and have been doing ever since is getting a nice graduation picture frame and putting a hundred dollar bill in it. Works for everybody.

A birthday calendar with the birthday dates and possibly pictures of his family members on it.

Does he have a nice digital photo frame? You can load it with cool pictures and he’d get tons of use out of it.

Or a subscription to his favorite online photo service, like Shutterfly or whatever. Pick up the tab for a year or two; I’m sure he’ll appreciate it.

I would imagine his parents are buying him a laptop for graduation, as everyone seems to these days. You might offer to buy a nice bag for it to go in.

$100 gift card to his favorite fast food place is an option: teenage boys eat a lot, and they often don’t get home much during senior summer.

Does he do any film photography or strictly digital? If he develops his own stuff, just go put yourself in the hands of the guy at the camera shop! That is a never-ending expensive hobby.

The best high school graduation gift I received was a nice tower fan with an air filter. Seems useless and dumb, but if he’s going to be living in a dorm, he’ll grow to love it.
