Silence on my part may be taken to mean that I haven’t got it, quite. Save for one, they all behave as Biotop’s explanation would lead me to expect. However, that smiley one just won’t unravel for me, even after a hot meal and a soak in the tub.

Unwashed vs soiled – I intended it another way, Unwashed as in “unsanitised” or “as it is”, but “soiled” is unrelated.
A tribute is what I intended, and so it stands, resistence is futile, at whatever ohmage.

Delighted to say that the smiley problem has sorted itself out now that a restful night has elapsed.
