I used to have a pair of Vuarnet Mountaineer glasses, they had some kind of plastic frame, leather side shields, and enormous, perfectly round lenses. I got glass prescription lenses put in them, so they weighed half a ton. Did I mention they were mirrored? I loved those things. Most of the people I knew hated them, but I didn’t give a shit. About 6 years ago, I threw them at a couch. It looked soft and poofy. It was not They exploded into numerous fragments, some large, some small. I then discovered that they were discontinued. I was inconsolable for at least 2 minutes. Strange how inconsequential stuff like sunglasses can be so depressing. I “replaced” them with a pair of RayBans that look somewhat like the ones worn by Keanu Reeves in the Matrix (the horror). I did not realize this until some years later, having not seen the stupid movie when it came out. Suddenly a lot of “Whoa” jokes made sense. So, does anybody know of a brand/model of ‘glacier’-type sunglasses with big, round (meaning completely circular) lenses.
