I just bought some glue-on toenails. (My toenails were all split and crappy looking and I’d just gotten some cool new toe rings, so, ya see, it was really a necessity. Really.)
The toe most in need of cosmetic improvement does not have much of a nail – and, of course, that’s the toe I can’t get the stupid glue to adhere to.
The glue is your standard cyanoacrylate. Where the glue has some natural nail to adhere to, it’s working great. But not so much where it’s mostly adhering to skin. It holds for a day or so, then comes loose.
Is there anything I can do to improve the way the glue adheres?
Wear shoes where they won’t retain mosture. An open toed shoe would allow for persperation to evaporate.
Harmonious, dahling…
I’m certainly not going to go to the trouble of glueing on fake toenails only to to hide them in loafers or something! I am doing this so the world can admire my sandal-shod feet, complete with faux pedicure and toe jewelry!
Rubbing alcohol. There is also a product called accelerator (can be purchased at a hobby shop ) but I wouldn’t recommend it. It causes a lot of heat and also leaves a white residue.
Doesn’t alcohol cause more damage to a nail?
I don’t know ? I do know that removing all the oils from something will allow it to adhere better. I use super glue for many things including cuts and hang nails.
Or that staple gun thing sounds promising
