This show definitely wears its politics on its sleeve. Look at the title of the finale…
I don’t remember him fighting against Daxamites until Rhea broke the rules of the mujer-a-mujer showdown for control of the Earth - so that is an easy spin if he wants to rule (and is available - he appeared a little distressed when that wormhole opened up).
A question for folks versed in the DC universe - is there an existing evil Kryptonian who could be the third kid in a rocket, who is presumably next season’s big bad?
My first guess was Doomsday but I think that’s leaning too heavily into Superman’s rogues gallery. IO9 guess that it is Reign but I don’t know her other than what it says on the post here:
My son was really excited that Supergirl had Wonder Woman’s boots and bracelets but I didn’t see that bit. I thought that she was going to crack them out in her fight and I didn’t realize until later that it was just a WW movie promo…
I read some speculation that it could be the Kryptonian known as the Eradicator. He was one of the four “Supermen” that showed up after Doomsday had killed Kal-El, the others being Cyborg (Hank Henshaw, who has already shown up in the series), the teenage clone, Kon-El, and John Henry Irons, aka Steel.
There was also the part where MM quipped to Superman that they were Stronger Together. Not subtle, this show.
Hmm… The ‘reign’ thing does jibe with several versions of Eradicator (including the current one), but I dunno. Every Eradicator has been an artificial being.
Reign seems possible, what with the conspicuous use of her name, albeit as the verb.
I wondered whether it might be a version of Lor-Zod (AKA Chris Kent), who was sent to Earth as a child (from the Phantom Zone) as a forerunner for an invasion.
So Queen Rhea has Kryptonite in her blood?!
Then how was Supergirl ever able to get close to her at all without being weakened, until Rhea started bleeding? It’s not like Daxamite skin is made out of lead and blocks Kryptonite radiation. Just being within 20 FEET of Rhea should have given Supergirl the dizzy spells weeks ago.
Couldn’t they put Mon-el in a room with filtered air? I’m sure the DEO has some, not to mention submarines or hundreds of labs…

Per IO9, the next villain is Reign.
