Seems a bit of a stretch to me – it’s probably more accurate to call The Incredibles a super-hero (action-)comedy more than a spoof.
And Underdog, and the Greatest American Hero, etc, ad nauseum.
Most superhero movies satirize comic book superhero conventions.
Even the X-Men took swipes at wearing yellow spandex.
I think Mel Brooks ought to do a spoof superhero movie. He’s already done Horror, Horse Opera, Space Opera, Silent, Amazing Detective, and Psychological Thriller/Suspense. He needs to crack the Superhero genre.
Oh, yeah. Can you imagine what Supey would do in a Mel Brooks movie after eating vast quantities of beans?
<<blows out the sun, maybe>>
Don’t forget this which predates all of them.
One running gag I’ve already thought of (that’s just lowbrow enough for a Zucker type parody film): constant mishaps in the ‘transformation’ scene -
Bruce / Batman & Dick / Robin slide down the secret poles in Stately Wayne Manor, only to appear in the Batcave in their underwear. “Gotta fix that!” mutters Batman.
Diana Prince / Wonder Woman ducks into an alley and spins around, big flash of lights, only to have her appear in her underwear. “Gotta fix that!” cries Wonder Woman.
Clark Kent / Superman ducks into a closet or phone booth, only to emerge in his underwear. “Damn, I thought I fixed that!” moans Superman.
etc. etc. etc.
That gag was already featured in a Bug Bunny superhero spoof cartoon in the early 40’s. In it, Bugs dashes into a phone booth to change into his Super Rabbit suit only to come out in a Little Bo Peep outfit instead.
Simpsons did it!
