If you spill pepper you will have a serious argument with your best friend.
Some people put salt and pepper in their left boot for good fortune.
Black pepper is used in Wicca for spells of protection, strength, wardings and (ironically?) lust.
Hot peppers (chiles) are used in Voudon spells - often to bring “heat” or pressure on someone. Can’t find a cite, but I learned it from a priest.
