In the same vein as a “Time Warp”-I have always wondered if in some remote spot, people just decided not to be modern-suppose the inhabitants kept dressing and behaving as if it was 1890. It would be interesting to see if such a community could stay together-maybe like the Amish?
Here’s a story you might enjoy.
Have you seen M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village?
The titular village appears to have deliberately maintained an old (pre-automobile) lifestyle. Although typical Shyamalan twists follow, the reasoning of the village’s founders turns out to be relevant to your thread topic.
I think the Amish have solidly demonstrated that such a community can stay together.
On a tangent: not a village here, but a family of six was isolated from the rest of the world for 42 years.
Yeah you make it sound good but in my opinion that movie was awful. Stay away, far away! Your mileage may vary.
