I’d say that the NAACP was stretching a bit far. The measures taken to date (if accurately reported), and assuming there’s no white-wash, the actions to be taken after the invesigation are complete, should be enough.
If the NAACP is really interested in seeing justice done, and not just posturing politically, then they’d demand to be part of the review/investigation team without prejudging guilt, not standing on the side lines, slinging accusations.
While I agree with expelling the students directly involved, I’d be hesitant to condone the blanket action agains “everyone at the party.” Probation seems a good idea, too.
I’d be willing to bet that the their Nationals steps in, though. I wouldn’t be surprised if they pulled their Charter (for a few years, anyway.) I’ve seen that happen for drug use (excessive use and dealing from the house, caught on tape) so I really wouldn’t be surprised to hear they lose their House.
Gosh, spoke-, you got me. I guess I should have thought twice before attempting to match wits with a Professional antagonist. You really are so much better at this than I. I should utterly concede this match to you, o’master of…uh, antagonism.
I do hope that my activity here didn’t keep you from more important matters.
<<The Confederate Battle Flag is a bit of Souther Heritage: a Heritage of racism, slavery, oppression and treason. >>
Well, gee…kinda hard to commit treason vs. a foreign country, isn’t it? And if a resident of, say, Georgia, remained loyal to the Union, in 1861, then why wouldn’t THAT be treasonous?
Is it your position, then, that racism, slavery, and oppression did not occur in the North?
I do try to make things as simple as possible. I don’t appreciate people who try to make them simpler, though.
